The 2weeker Administration is pleased to present its regular fortnightly status report. As of this writing, all major categories of imminent occurrence remain, as is traditional, approximately two weeks from arrival. Subscribers are reminded that “two weeks” is a mood, not a measurement.

Current standings

  • Peace in the Middle East. The US–Iran truce, originally a single fortnight, is in its fourteenth. Fighting resumed; it was declared over; it was not. Status: two weeks.
  • The World Cup. Concludes 19 July as scheduled, which is to say it is the only item on this list that will actually end. Status: on schedule, and therefore anomalous.
  • Artificial general intelligence. A new model shipped this month and is, as always, the breakthrough that finally arrives. Status: two weeks.
  • Semiconductor self-sufficiency. Sales are up 93.9% and memory costs 125% more; the shortage persists. Status: two weeks.
  • The Ukraine front. Held. Several offensives applied; line unchanged. Status: two weeks, geographically.

Methodology

Each item is evaluated on a simple scale: has it happened? If not, it is two weeks away. If it has happened, it is replaced by a new item that has not, which is two weeks away. The system is self-correcting and requires no additional input.
